Texas Trey’s Opens New Production Facility in Frederick County, Virginia
Small-Batch Craft Tortilla Chip Manufacturer Opens 4,300 Square Foot Production Facility and Retail Store
Texas Trey’s LLC, a renowned small-batch craft food manufacturer known for its signature Salsa Shovel, kettle-style tortilla chips, is thrilled to announce its official reopening. The company has resumed production in a newly upgraded facility, complete with a forthcoming retail storefront, at 242 Airport Road, Winchester, VA 22602, in Frederick County.
Originally founded in 2012 as a home-based business operating out of a concession trailer and home kitchen, Texas Trey’s quickly gained a loyal following, earning a reputation for its commitment to high-quality ingredients and artisanal craftsmanship. As the brand expanded across the Northern Shenandoah Valley and beyond, it secured shelf space at Wegmans Food Markets in Leesburg and Ashburn, Virginia.
Texas Trey’s chips exceeded expectations, becoming a top seller in its category, leading Wegmans to place an order for all 14 of its Virginia locations. However, without a suitable co-packer or investor to scale production, the company was unable to meet demand, ultimately closing its doors in February 2024.
Just a month later, a devoted fan would step forward, offering the investment needed to bring Texas Trey’s back to life.
