Celebrate the 250th Anniversary of United States Independence and the 268th Anniversary of George Washington’s Election to the Virginia House of Burgesses (his first elected political position!) with the VA250 Mobile Museum!
The VA250 Mobile Museum will be on view at the Shenandoah Valley Civil War Museum from July 24-26.
Join the French and Indian War Foundation on July 25, from 5-8pm for a special reenactment of George Washington’s Election to the Virginia House of Burgesses, which occurred on this site in 1758. This is where a young George Washington won a seat in the House of Burgesses. The public, regardless of age is welcome to come an participate in the election where they can vote for young George or one of his competitors!
